Another batch of lifedrawings. I used a different kind of medium again, this water-soluble green pencil. I did find out pretty soon that there wasn't much time do the wash part for the color. The faster ones are green green felt pen with black brushpen. And yes..the head is quite big in that one in the middle :)

Obviously sketchbook stuff, no need to elaborate more. Some older and some more recent. One note though about these: the page with the man waving a knife and the "cowboy" in rain is all digital. The medium does dictate some of the look&feel even though I can't escape my "house" style ;)

Haven't felt this good with life drawing in a while. Usually the last 20min is a bit of a struggle but today I felt like I managed to get something done. I switched in the halftime from graphite to good old ink and at the same time it's always a bit difficult to switch your mind too. Went through my hard drive and came upon these GIF -animations exported from my old Nokia mobile phone. They were made with the excellent Animator 3000 -animation program developed at Sulake in 2007 (nowadays the guys of Secret Exit). It had been a while since I did traditional life drawing and it also took a while to get going this time. I still tend to stop to think too much thus slowing the pen down and often that results in stiff drawings, poor weight and bad proportions.I should also start experimenting with new media and a bigger paper. A friend of mine commissioned a painting from me. There were few requirements. It had to fit the frames that she already had and those were of challenging proportions, really wide and quite low. Doodles...at least! Another session of the wonderful Dr. Sketchy's burlesque lifedrawing was held. Likeness is again something that is off in almost all of these.I personally like best the small single black and white one. It was drawn while the model was moving and performing as most of the non-colored.

This time around I tried again to draw in a slightly different way than usually. The change of techniques is obvious but I also tried to force my hand to move the pen differently almost every time.
